New Perspective

Cycles of growth exists through phases, no doubt. At times we are happy, at times we are sad, at times we are confident, at times we are hesitant. Just like the changing seasons, each cycle brings newness, something fresh, something we may not have noticed before. A feeling of freshness and renewed sense glimpses to what the newness may bring.
When it feels like we take one step forward and two steps back, it is nice to know that us too are part of a bigger cycle. We too are part of nature, and influenced by what is around us, and this is necessary.
Does the introspection of winter ever feel sad or depressed, maybe disappointed to be back at winter, I mean it was there just a year ago, right?
During every phase there is something to grasp, something you did not quite understand that way before. Each cycle brings with it wisdom, in dimensions greater than the obvious. So why not explore the depth of where you are at right now – without even a trace of judgment. We are so stuck on the idea of linear advancement. Having to build steadily on what we have, our skills, our income, our possessions, our education, our happiness, our understanding, our relationships….., we become frightened when we experience loss. We become frightened when no longer we are upgrading our phones, our homes, our income.
I’d like this masculine linear expectation to make way for a feminine quality of expansiveness. What if advancement happens in different dimensions, meaning each step no longer equals one lesson, but multitudes? Therefor taking two steps back actually means advancing to the next lesson of that level.
Today I would like to look at everything with fresh eyes. I’d like to discover what I have in this feeling in this situation, in this relationship, in this moment. What if everything, even the slightest detail is perfect exactly as it is? Happy journey.

Respect your Dream Time!

If you love sleeping as much as I do, you will surely appreciate the fact that we can be very productive in our dream time. Just last night, for example, I was doing some reading on my current studies. In my dream time I was performing the practical parts of the newly acquired theory with attentiveness and accuracy. It’s like studying while sleeping!
On the other hand, after watching a movie, perhaps with emotionally disturbing content, my dream time will go into replaying parts until it gets resolved, or until I wake up, whichever comes first.
I am no expert, thus can’t claim that the latter form of processing negative emotions is completely useless, but I know it is not very fulfilling, and that I wake up feeling tired. I love making myself feel good before going to sleep. I love exploring the deeper levels of sobriety, to be found in meditation. Taking a bath, or shower, and maybe doing a few light stretches puts me in the perfect mood for meditative practice. This is by far my favorite way of preparing for the dream time. This is the preparation for quality dream time, like solving problems which are to appear the following day. Naturally you don’t experience them as problems when they come, and the familiarity, due to you dream time preparation, makes it feels like yesterday’s.
Other valuable dreams which comes up with this meditative preparation are solutions to bigger life questions. This may come in the form of guides appearing with good solid advice. Premonition dreams are also likely to come when you have cleared your mind before going to sleep. Well, they may even come otherwise, but you may not have the ability to tell the difference if you hadn’t practiced mind clearing techniques before bed time. My favorite dreams as result of meditation before sleeping, are those connecting me with other dimensions. Intergalactic, time and space travel dreams. Those are the best.
So, how do you choose to spend your dream time, mulling over your current troubles, drawn into a movie you just watched, or delving into the worlds beyond?
Happy Dreaming. <3

How do I become more aware of my own chakras?

So I was asked what the best way is to open up to, and be more aware of one’s chakras – the seven major energy centers in our bodies.
There are a few techniques that I like, and all of them require you to get more in touch with your physical body. My favorite is through body movement – dancing. This starts off with some leg movement, perhaps alternating the legs while your attention is on the base chakra, located at the perineum. That may move into hips sways, torso twists, and extended arm torso twists. Soon your neck may be inspired to engage in some unwinding action, and subtle ahead spinning feels quite good after that. Down and up, up and down….. It feels so good to feel those subtle bodies wake up through the movement.
Using the vowel sounds through vocal toning is also very effective, to activate and indicate the energy centers. Variation exists in teachers’s recommendations, but generally the Root chakra resonates with the note “C” and the vowel sound of “Oooooo.” The Sacral chakra resonates with “G” and the sound “Oh.” The Solar Plexus resonates with “C” and “O, as in Ostrich” The Heart goes with the “E” note and the sound “Ah.” Throat resonates with “G” and “Ay.” The brow center resonates to B flat, and the vowel “Eeeeee,” and finally the crown center resonates with “C” and the vowel “U,” pronounced with the mouth position for “Ooooo,” but the sound of “Eeee.”
Sitting upright, or lying down, you can also scan your attention over each energy center. Stay there long enough to feel a sensation, and if you are visually inclined, perhaps also sense a color. Being connected to the central column that runs down your body is very empowering and a wonderful daily practice. I hope you have fun with it and enjoy the results.
Much Love.

Coming into your power personal power.

Coming into your power personal power:
How many of you can say that you are in your personal power, that you have fully embraced your full potential, and are living the life you are meant to live? This has been the selling point of just about every self help seminar, and wealth creation advertisement I have seen in recent years. The mere fact that this selling point is so big, is the clear indication that very few of us believe for ourselves to be in our personal power.
I’d like to open this question up a little further, How many of you believe yourselves to be in your spiritual power? “What’s that?” a few of you may think. While a lot of us may not believe we are in our personal power, at least having some kind of understanding of how it may look or feel like exists, while the understanding of what is is like to be in our spiritual power may be more elusive, abstract, and maybe even less important.
What does coming into your personal mean to you? How do you envision it being reflected in your life. Could it mean that your romantic partner finally sees you, admires you and start following your advice? Or maybe that your children finally turn around and see what a great mother you have been all these years, all these years you have secretly been doubting what you were doing and have never stopped waiting for that validating response. Could it mean that finally by the magical power of the universe, you have turned that hobby of yours into a career? Could it mean that you finally have over two thousand Facebook friends, and a few hundred followers, and feel accomplished by knowing that the social world, or the Facebook world at least, sees who you are? Could it mean that you have the audience you have hoped for after perfecting your craft and now that you have perfected your cart you have the confidence to show it off. That does feel like personal power, doesn’t it? Or maybe after years of being the perfect employee, finally your boss takes notice of you. If we just hope enough, dream enough, work enough, be patient enough, personal power is sure to be ours. It is there, just around the corner.
Let’s do a little exercise. Think about someone you admire, someone you may even be a little jealous of, someone who has accomplish something you would like to accomplish to bring you closer to your personal power. Now see yourself as that person. How does it feel? What is the sensation in your heart? What is the sensation in your belly?
Personlly when I do this exercise I get a slight bit of anxiety. Envisioning myself in the position of someone who has achieved what I feel associated with my personal power gives me anxiety, and if that is how personal power feels, I am not sure that I want to sign up.
Coming from South Africa, a country where oppression of the people, that is oppression of the personal power of the people has been happening on a large scale, it is easy for me to see the wound. However vibrant the people, making oneself sound accomplished and proud does not come naturally to most people. All eyes are on the USA, where people are being taught from a young age to confidently and naturally advocate for themselves. Then again,if taught from a young age, why is coming into your power such a lucrative self-help topic, especially in the Sates?
What really is this kind of confidence that we associate with personal power?
What is the foundation of it, and how do we cultivate it?
For a long time I was confused about what personal power means, and how it’s related to spiritual power. I have been born with a keen interest in mysticism, but with the popularity of spirituality, self help, wellness and wealth creation as industry, it seems that being a mystic means that you have magical spiritual powers to manifest the life you want: You drive your dream car, have your best selling book, you have made it big, and you have material wealth as proof, therefor you have credibility to teach others. I started thinking I had to behave a certain way, in order to gain my personal power… as taught by “those who have made it.” I started believing that I will never have the confidence to “make it.” I will always just be average, normal, one of the many unenlightened, striving towards something which is not.
I was so fortunate to be sitting with a wise, compassionate person one day, who guided me to that limitless place within. I was surprised at how confident, wise, and deeply in tact I feel in this space of nothingness. It is where I realized that even with a bruised personality, a less than confident ego, my spiritual self is not the same as my ego self.
This spiritual self, which actually has little to do with me, is where I, my ego self feels safe and gain confidence from. This spiritual self, this place of vastness, of nothingness free from emotion, free from drive and full of awareness and interest, is the foundation of my personal power. For about a week I drifted in this blissful space, feeling too good to really desire engaging with the world outside. Living from this place where everything is ok, even perfect, exactly as it is. Slowly my perception started to change. I started having courage to present myself professionally in a whole different and assertive, yet non-intruive way. I started having men show interest in me and I had the confidence and clarity to get the type of mentoring I needed for different areas of my life.
Trying to come into our personal power from a place of our personal ego just does not work.
There is always going to be someone better than you, some accomplishment to achieve, some next project to complete before the ego will feel satisfied. Using the vast, and undefined space of spirituality as foundation is the only real way the personality, the ego, can find solace and pride in it’s uniqueness, it’s brilliance and role in human society. Stepping into your spiritual power by accessing the limitless space within and feeling comfortable with it, this is the way to turn anxiety into rapture, to turn jealousy into inspiration, and to turn procrastination into active preparation.

Are you isolated or connected?

Swadhisthana – the blissful belly. Dropping our energy down to this space is where we connect with all that is, that was, and that which will be. Taoism calls it the infinite. It is a space of pure potential, deep feminine nourishment and wisdom. Associated with the color, orange, the sacral energy center’s association with the endocrine system is through the reproductive organs. It is no coincidence that the ovaries are often considered to be connected to our creativity. Why don’t you take the time to tune into your own, and find out what it represents to you?
During times I spent meditating in the blissful belly, qualities that have surfaced was that of an aloneness, yet the feeling is not of isolation, but rather of connectedness. The aloneness is not that of vulnerability, but rather that of richness, fullness, a filling of space, and therefor comfortably fulfilled. It is like traveling by yourself. You are on a venture, and all around you is so much to learn explore, and meet. You feel so empowered. The connection is to the wisdom of a Grandmother with wisdom of many, many generations, maybe even from the beginning of time. There is no time, and the space is without boundary. There is no right or wrong, and everything is not only allowed, but encouraged – an invitation to life. This is the true practice of tantra. Allow yourself a visit to this place from time to time. Embrace your moon cycle, this is an opportune time to connect with the fullness, that is already manifested physically, and enjoy this inner journey of which you are the center. ~ Blessings

Sing Sing Sing!

Your voice is one of the most revealing reflections of what’s going on inside yourself emotionally. Your voice can reveal which frequency ranges you are blocking off, as well as which frequency ranges you are currently experiencing.
So whether you are feeling happy, sad or not sure at all what it is you are feeling, open your mouth and listen to what your voice sounds like. Sound is like is bridge between matter and thought. The frequency ranges of sound is more dense than color, and more dense than thought, yet less dense than matter. Therefor, singing, or simple chanting is amazingly effective at slowing your thoughts down, yet raising awareness of your physical vibration. Singing can magnify emotional intensity, or even evoke an emotion that you would like to invite to your current feeling experience.
During the Apartheid years in South Africa, song was used by the unarmed masses against the armed opposition. Not only was it majorly effective in scaring the opposition, it created a bond amongst the people who were partaking in the songs.
Through singing you have a great opportunity to express yourself, and creating intention for manifestation. Have you ever looked at pictures of the vocal chords? Yes, it looks remarkably similar to the yoni. What comes through the voice is the birthing of the higher expressions of oneself, and the collective – that which comes through the intellect. Enjoy the rawness and the beauty of your own voice, and bathe in the freedom of the experience.:-)

Look how far you have come.

What do you see when you look around? Which Facebook posts and pictures are the ones that catch your eye? Who are the people you’d like to be like?
Our lives are full of input and ideas on how to improve. Most of us strive to be better people, in a better financial situations, with better relationships, and living in more fulfillment than today. Aspiration, drive and forward momentum is a good thing, but when last did you think about how far you have come in life?
We have the tendency to remember the bad times, and appreciate when we shift to better times. The “rock bottom” times are not so hard to remember, but that may have been a long time ago already. When last did you have a day, or just a moment of recognizing the little improvements in your life. Little by little, they all ad up.
My guess is that if you sit in silence for a few minutes, right now, you will be surprised to notice how your wishes and desires have manifested. You may be surprised to recognize areas of emotional maturity, which certainly weren’t there just a few years ago. You may be surprised to see what you no longer are afraid of, and where you have built confidence and resilience. Why not take a whole day in honor of how far you have come in life?
No-one knows the nature of your own inner conflicts, insecurities and challenges. Therefor, no-one but yourself can truly recognize and honor just how far you have come. Well done to all of us. Blessings & much love.

Dealing with Anger

Haven’t just about all of us had the sensation of boiling inside with anger?
Some of us have learnt already that expressing it in that moment of extreme burning sensation brings no good – usually it makes things worse. Yet the feeling is there, so what to do? We’ve been warned again the dangers of this emotion, and especially the dangers of keeping it in.
Enlightenment as a goal, surely does not welcome this quality, and even just wanting to be a better person and having harmonious relationships have somewhat aversion to bringing the quality of anger to the table.
Suppressed anger is known to be a cause of depression. So, can’t let is spill out, can’t keep it in, then what to do?
What if we did not turn anger into this bad guy all the time. What if we accepted anger as perfectly appropriate messenger of information we need and want in order to get to know ourselves better. When we know ourselves better, it is easier to distinguish what we like and what we don’t. It is easier to make choices, it is easier to bring into manifestation our desires. So why not trust this messenger friend for a while and note every time you become angry about something. Write it down! This will help you blow off steam, as well as discover something about yourself – which always feels good. Wouldn’t you be pleased to pinpoint the things in your life which no-longer serve, with the empowerment that change in those areas may bring to your life?
Change is inevitable, you have no choice about that, but you have a choice in how you direct the change in your life. So, why not stop blaming the thing in your life which makes you angry. The anger is there already, the triggers are only messengers for you to get closer to yourself. Approach anger with curiosity and discover the person behind the emotion.

Passion and Purpose

What motives you? The quest to finding one’s passion and purpose in life has become such a popular topic, that many people find it a source of anxiety.
Showing your uniqueness has become a status symbol, this landmark, and thing one is supposed to have figured out. While it is really helpful to know your vocation in in life, what career you choose and what activity you spend most of your waking hours of, it is not to be confused with passion and purpose.
Passion and purpose are qualities, qualities that you feel within. Passion is having excitement, and interest, and purpose is to understand your motivation behind every little action. To cultivate these qualities may take a lifetime, and in a lifetime you may move through many vocational choices and career options. In a driven world, the sooner you work on a career the sooner you feel part of system, be it a superficial system. If it can be sold to you that your work is a supposed to be your passion and purpose, a lot of money is to be made.
In reality, passion and purpose are qualities you can start cultivating right now. You already have those qualities within. You have a whole lifetime to work on it, to play with it, and enjoy it! In the meanwhile, accept your way of income, and bring to it those qualities of passion and purpose. As you become more confident in being yourself, passion and purpose becomes more of who you are rather than what you do vocationally.
Sooner or later the changes you’d like to see manifest in your external environment will have no choice but to manifest. For now accept your real challenge, that of being human, that of bringing passion to your interactions and living on purpose.
Much love.
